Smith & Five College Libraries
Welcome to Summer 2020
Smith Libraries
Young Library is the Libraries’ central campus service hub and home to Special Collections for the duration of the New Neilson Library Project (2017-2020). The libraries’ collections and services are distributed across the campus in three locations: Young Library, Hillyer Art Library, and Josten Performing Arts Library. Each library offers a variety of study spaces and staff to assist users with their research and help them access collections at Smith and beyond.
Visit Services for Social Work Students to access resources, get help, and request materials while on placement.
Smith College Studies in Social Work
Smith College Studies in Social Work, a long-standing, juried professional journal focusing on the dissemination of knowledge relevant to clinical practice, is housed at Neilson. Articles include those from scholars, researchers and practitioners, as well as those based on theses or dissertations produced by Smith graduates. The Studies also publishes reviews of current professional publications and abstracts of all of the theses and dissertations completed at Smith on an annual basis.
Five College Libraries
Through an exchange with the Five College Consortium, School for Social Work students also have access to the library holdings at Amherst, Mount Holyoke and Hampshire colleges and the University of Massachusetts' flagship campus in Amherst.
