The Smith College School for Social Work encourages applications from people of all gender identities and expressions who share the School’s commitment to professional excellence in clinical social work and who want to learn how to promote healing, growth and empowerment as practitioners.

There is no typical Smith student. Our applicants come from across the country, each bringing unique perspectives and talents. Students may bring the youth and energy of 22 or the experience of 65—and come from widely varying backgrounds. What they all have in common is academic excellence, strong motivation and intellectual curiosity. Whatever your experience or background, you are invited to add your voice to our conversation by applying to the M.S.W. or Ph.D. program.
