Check Your Application Status

Please follow these instructions to check on the status of your admission and/or financial aid application(s).

You will need the User ID and PIN that the School emailed to you.

Note: We email user IDs and PINs to applicants after they submit the Personal Information Section of the application (M.S.W. or Ph.D.). This process can take several business days.


Log in to BannerWeb

  1. Click on this link to open the BannerWeb page and log in.

  2. At the User Login screen, enter your User ID and PIN. Type carefully. Click "Login."

  3. Your PIN will be expired and you will need to create a new one

  4. Your new PIN must be between 8 and 15 characters and contain at least one number and at least one letter. When you choose it, please write it down for future reference.

  5. Read the Terms of Usage and click "Continue."

  6. Confirm your PIN.

  7. If you forget your PIN, you will need to contact the User Support Center at 413-585-4487 or

Checking the status of your admission application

  1. Click on "Student and Financial Aid" tab.

  2. Click on "SSW Admissions Menu."

  3. Click on "View Application Status."

  4. Click the link under "Processed Applications".

  5. You will now see your name, address, application data, and application requirements. The requirements table contains all of the information that is required to complete your Smith application. When a document has been received in our office, you will see the date it was received in the Received box. (If it has not been received, you will either see an "N" or no date.)

Please note:

  • Our offices receive a heavy volume of mail every day. If you believe that something has been sent but it is not yet recorded on the computer, please don’t worry. There is sometimes a lag of a few days from the time we receive mail to the time it is entered into the computer.
  • ​Please keep your User ID and PIN in a safe place. To guarantee your privacy, please keep your User ID and PIN confidential.


Those who submit complete applications by January 5 will be notified of a decision on their application by the end of the first week in February; those submitting complete applications by February 21 will be notified by the end of March.

Decisions will be mailed to your preferred mailing address. We do not give out decisions by phone or email.
