Biography

Dr. Ashley Varner is an adjunct assistant professor at Smith College School for Social Work and a clinical social worker in the neurology division of Emory University's School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. She is currently a practicum faculty adviser and has taught for the palliative and end of life care certificate program at Smith College School for Social Work. Her areas of social work interest include caregiving, palliative and end of life care, oncology and brain tumors, Alzheimer's Disease and other causes of dementia, and medical ethics.

Varner holds a master's degree in social work from Smith College School for Social Work, a Ph.D. in social work from The Catholic University of America, and a master's in the business of medicine from Johns Hopkins University.
