A direct descendent of a traditional healer, Dean has evolved a multidisciplinary healing elixir from her study of depth psychology, theology, anthropology, and ecology. She holds an advanced master in clinical social work from SUNY-Albany NY, a master of divinity from Union Theological Seminary / Columbia University in NYC, and a master of social work from the University of the West Indies Mona Campus, Jamaica. She has specialized interest in the role of African Diasporan health modalities, religion and spirituality, environment and culture-specific ways of knowing in promoting human and planetary wellbeing. In working holistically with clients at all levels, she incorporates traditional, conventional and creative healing modalities to facilitate vitality through nature, nurture and culture.
