Who are We

Smith College School for Social Work has 100 years of excellence in training clinical social workers. All of our counselors are M.S.W. interns completing their final year of training and are supervised by licensed mental health professionals. We offer FREE ongoing telephone or Zoom counseling to Massachusetts and New York residents from September through April each year beginning in 2020-21.

Our Services

We provide counseling service for adults (18+), who reside in Massachusetts or New York. We offer individual, ongoing counseling, as well as brief psychosocial support, case management and referral services.

We integrate anti-oppressive values into all of the services we provide, acknowledging the structural forces in society that serve to create and shape individual and family challenges.

We provide support around these common issues:
  • Anxiety and stress
  • Depression
  • Relationship and family problems
  • Parenting challenges
  • Concerns about school or work
  • Physical/mental health and well-being
  • Experiencing social isolation
  • Experiencing racism, classism, sexism, cisgenderism, homophobia or other forms of structural violence

Our counselors are able to respond to a wide variety of topics, although note that we do not offer crisis services or addiction treatment services. Please give us a call for more information. Our telephone line is staffed from Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. ET. We have appointments during the day and limited availability in the evenings.
