B.A., University of Colorado Boulder
M.S.W., Metropolitan State University of Denver
Devon Cozens earned her M.S.W. from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2017, with a concentration in youth and family practice. She has worked in Denver across nonprofits, residential and day treatment programs, as a school social worker in a large public district, and most recently as an outpatient therapist specializing in relational work with couples and new parents.
Cozens has been on faculty in the M.S.W. program at MSU Denver since 2022. In the department, she coordinates two grant-funded initiatives: an anti-oppressive, culturally responsive and relational clinical supervision fellowship for post-graduates and a social work apprenticeship pathway pilot. She enjoys teaching internship seminars and providing supervision to MSW students and early-career clinical social workers.
Devon’s current clinical practice focuses on helping individuals and couples identify and exit limiting patterns and deepen emotional connection in their most important relationships. Drawing from anti-oppressive, psychodynamic, and attachment-based perspectives, she supports clients in exploring identity, navigating major life transitions, and understanding the lasting impact of early experiences. She has a particular passion for working with people during the transition to parenthood and in the early stages of family life. Devon’s research interests include perinatal and early childhood mental health, parenting, and clinical social work supervision.
