Jeffrey Steen, M.S.W., Ph.D., LCSW

Jeffrey Steen has been a social work educator for twenty years, primarily teaching courses in research, practice, and substance use. Most of his clinical work and scholarship are in the area of harm reduction, coupled with inquiry into the personal and professional experiences of service providers. He has published extensively in the peer-reviewed literature, and presently serves as associate editor of Journal of Social Work Practice in the Addictions. His first co-edited book, Clinical Practice with Clients with Substance Use Disorders, 4th edition, will be published by Guildford Press in late 2026.
