Biography

Kurt D. Lebeck, M.S.W., is a behavioral health and recovery science researcher emphasizing program development for substance use and co-occurring disorders. His approach champions integrated care models with peers, social workers, and other providers working collaboratively. His work progresses treatment programs and interventions for individuals with diverse, intersectional identities. Lebeck is a Ph.D. student and NIAAA Training Fellow at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management. He is the principal investigator for a New Mexico project implementing tools for peers and case managers to coach clients on building recovery capital. In addition, he leads the state's Society for Addiction Medicine. His work includes an NIH/NIDA-sponsored SUD Innovation program at MIT and a peer survey analysis for SSW MHTTC. Previously, he managed a design and build firm in NYC. Lebeck holds an M.S.W. from Smith College and a San Francisco Art Institute B.F.A.
