Biography

Sarah Harper (she/her) is an infant and early childhood mental health consultant and supervisor at Community Action Pioneer Valley’s Head Start & Early Learning Programs. She provides reflective consultation to parents and caregivers, home visitors, early childhood educators, and other early childhood program staff. Through reflective supervision and consultation practices, Harper works to promote attuned, nurturing relationships, and encourage caregiving adults’ shared understandings of children’s unique behavior and development that, ultimately, nourishes children’s mental well-being and buffers against chronic stress and trauma. She is committed to providing and promoting relationally focused, anti-oppressive, and family-centered care across staff and case management teams, program operations, classrooms, and community groups.

Harper has additional experience as a community mental health clinician, play therapist, guest lecturer, LGBTQIA youth group facilitator, trainer, fundraiser, board member, and parent.

She graduated with her M.S.W. from Rutgers University School of Social Work and holds a B.A. in Economics from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College.
