Getting Licensed as an M.S.W.

To practice as a social worker at the MSW level, you’ll typically need:

  • MSW from a CSWE-accredited program
  • Application to your state licensing board
  • Passing the ASWB exam
  • Supervised clinical hours (for clinical licensure only)

Master’s-Level Licensure (Entry-Level After M.S.W.)
