About CRI
Clinical Research Institute (CRI) was first established at Smith College School for Social Work with a generous gift from Brown Foundation. CRI serves as a central hub for faculty research relevant to clinical social work. It also aims to enhance research training for Ph.D. students, fostering an environment of mutual learning and mentorship.
Key activities of CRI include, but are not limited to:
- Research funding for Faculty: Supporting faculty research initiatives related to clinical social work.
- Research funding for Ph.D. students: Supporting research conducted by Ph.D. students.
- Evaluation Committee: Ongoing evaluation of the School’s racial justice initiatives and their impact on the institutional climate.
- Scholarly Dissemination: Publishing relevant research through Studies in Clinical Social Work: Transforming Practice, Education, and Research, a peer-reviewed journal housed at SSW.
- Share Information about SSW Research: Providing information about research studies led by SSW faculty and students for participant recruitment, research collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
- Research Start-Up Funds: Supporting new resident faculty with research seed funding.
