Alexandra Klein Rafaeli has been teaching at SSW since 2019. She developed the course Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT): Theoretical, Cultural, and Experiential and teaches Practical Principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Presentations and Issues as well as Group Theory & Practice. She is committed to clinically grounded teaching and to the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based practices in the public sector.
Rafaeli is director of training at the Center for Trauma Recovery at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Previously, she served as director, chief psychologist, and coordinator of psychological services at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Her clinical work integrates multiple therapeutic approaches, with particular interest in trauma-informed care and the application of theory to real-world settings. She was born and raised in New York City, completed clinical training at Columbia University, and earned her doctorate from Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology.
