Ph.D. Tuition, Fees and Financial Aid

Our Commitment to Financial Aid

We believe in making your degree affordable.

We have a deep commitment to access and affordability for all students qualified to join the Smith SSW community. We know that student success can be tied to financial security and we are dedicated to developing scholarship endowments and expanding resources which will provide internship awards and living stipends.

There are many obstacles to completing a graduate degree; finances shouldn’t be one of them.

Grant aid packages from the School range from $6,000 to $35,000. In addition to generous financial aid packages, Smith SSW also provides free on-campus summer housing for any doctoral student who qualifies for financial aid.

We offer more than just financial aid.

Smith SSW also recognizes particular students who reflect the School’s values and commitments or present exceptional professional potential. A number of alumni sponsored endowments have allowed us to do just that! And thanks to their support, applicants may qualify for up to $35,000 in institutional merit aid per 12-month period.

Unless otherwise specified, no separate application is needed to be considered for these merit awards, you’ll be assessed for the awards during your application process once you qualify for aid using the FAFSA.
