Biography

Astrid Watkins is a Ph.D. student in social work and social welfare at the University of Chicago. Her interests include historical and contemporary abolitionist and land justice movements; critical historiography of the state; creative and participatory research methods; and mutual aid. Prior to pursuing a Ph.D., she worked in policy analysis and research and in arts-based organizing.
