Biography

 Dana Spett, D.S.W., is the founder and executive director of Pony Power Therapies, a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting individuals with disabilities and life challenges to the wonders of horses, farming, and nature. With over two decades of leadership in program development, non profit management, and community partnerships, Spett has pioneered innovative approaches to equine-assisted social work, integrating somatic and nature-based practices into therapeutic and educational settings.

In addition to her nonprofit leadership, Spett is an assistant adjunct professor at Smith College for Social Work, where she teaches Social Welfare Policy during the intensive summer residency. She also serves as a part-time lecturer at Rutgers University School of Social Work. Spett holds a doctorate of social work from Rutgers, a master of social work from Wurzweiler School of Social Work, and a bachelor’s degree in Russian language and political science from New York University.
