Jennifer Swanberg, MMHS, Ph.D., OTR/L, holds a doctorate in social policy and a master’s in management of human services from the Heller School at Brandeis University and a B.S. in occupational therapy from the University of New Hampshire. She is an adjunct professor at the Smith College School for Social Work and a full professor in the Department of Health Sciences, College of Health & Wellness at Johnson & Wales University. Swanberg’s research spans occupational health, work-life balance, and health disparities, with implications for social work and public health, and her studies on low-wage work have informed public policy and employer practices.
She founded and led a research center, served as an academic dean, published in leading journals, and collaborates across disciplines to address pressing social challenges. In addition to her academic work, Swanberg is a certified mindfulness meditation teacher and work+life mindfulness coach, bringing evidence-based approaches to well-being into her teaching and practice.
