Biography
Shira Lazarus is originally from New York City where she grew up hanging out at museums, in Central Park; going to shows and listening to live music. Aside from this burgeoning social life which revolved around cultural experiences unique to NYC, Lazarus became interested in academics as a hobby in subjects ranging from STEM fields to psychology to social work. Her academic interests continue to enrich her life to this day. She has planted her feet in her area of study of choice: psychoanalytic social work with the unhoused and severely mentally disturbed population. With her research she hopes to be able to contribute to this area of public psychiatry on behalf of the people suffering from these diseases both primarily and secondarily.
