Smith SSW is pleased to announce that Jason Mull, M.S.W. '21, and current student Audrey Bruell have been awarded the 2022 Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute’s Social Work Grant Award. As part of the award, Mull and Bruell will attend the Lawrence Lifson Conference on Psychodynamic Psychotherapy with a travel stipend. They have been awarded guest partnerships at the Boston Psychoanalytic Institute with free tuition for continuing education courses and they have both been matched with a social work mentor to meet with over the upcoming year.
In addition, Emily Barr, M.S.W. '20, Miriam Desgazon, M.S.W. '20, and current student Alexander Watson are the recipients of a second prize award, the BPSI Social Work Conference Award. They will also attend the Lifson conference, will receive a yearlong guest partnership at BPSI and have been matched to meet with a social work mentor for six months.
"We are tremendously proud of the level of sophistication of our students in their conceptualization and practice of clinical work and we are so delighted to have them recognized by BPSI for their depth and range of knowledge," said Dean Marianne Yoshioka. "It is a valuable opportunity for our students and alums to have access both to the Lifson Conference and mentorship through BPSI."
