Effective Clinical Supervision: A Trauma-Informed Approach
Clinical supervision can sometimes devolve into rote reporting on clinical cases that feels like an "update" session rather than an opportunity for insight development, personal reflection or professional growth. This course will explore use of a supervision template that supports deepening clinical expertise, connecting theory to practice and documentation as well as promoting a holistic view of the clinician's professional role.
This training will provide instruction and practice using a trauma-informed process for clinical supervision. A detailed template with targeted topic areas will be used as a basis for organizing questions and areas for exploration to deepen clinical work and develop partnership in managing accountability in service delivery and documentation. Participants will explore some of the common barriers to providing and participating in effective clinical supervision as well as strategies for overcoming those barriers.
