Grow Food Northampton (GFN) is creating an alternative to industrialized agriculture and the broken national food system: a vibrant racially, economically, and environmentally just local food and farming system that is flourishing right here in the community. They work towards food sovereignty -- the right of people to control their own food and agriculture systems, and to have access to healthy, affordable, and culturally relevant foods -- for all members of the community.

GFN owns and operates a 121-acre organic community farm where they practice agroecology, a method of growing food that promotes environmental resilience; tends to equity, nutrition, and health; and ensures that everyone has a relationship with the land where their food is grown. They view the local food system as an interconnected web of growers and eaters activated to grow food for themselves and others, access nutrient-dense foods, and nourish themselves.
