Michael Del Rio (they/them/x) is a student of life, always making space for the wonderful lessons we can learn from more than human life, the land and other animate and inanimate forces of nature. They are a farmer and teacher at The Farm School. As a community mushroom educator, they are fascinated at the beautiful and complex relationships formed by fungi and other life forms and environments. Del Rio loves to share this passion with anyone trying to learn more about mushrooms. At the Farm School, Del Rio along with youth built an outdoor edible mushroom garden where they are growing shiitake, winecaps, oysters, and chestnut mushrooms.
