In our current socio-political climate, there is a need for mental health professionals to expand our perspective and practice beyond the traditional psychological frameworks. During this 1.5 hour session, we will begin to do just that by delving into how Liberation Psychology allows us to connect individual healing and personal growth to collective well-being and transformative community action. Participants will leave this session with an overview of historical context as well as core concepts of Liberation Psychology that can foster empowerment and social change within our clinical practice. All levels of knowledge and experience with liberation psychology are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
