Dear SSW community,
We join President Kathleen McCartney in urging you to vote in the upcoming election. The 2020 election will take place on Tuesday, November 3, and is perhaps the most critical election we will face in modern times. With just two weeks left, we write to remind us all that social work advocacy begins with using your vote to bring greater social justice, the core value for which the profession stands.
President McCartney’s message shared important resources for students and employees as they make a plan to vote. We write today to share additional resources from NASW that you may find useful. NASW has a wealth of initiatives and opportunities for social workers to get involved in increasing voter participation.
We encourage each of you to make a plan to vote and to encourage others to do the same.
We echo President McCartney when we say, let our voices be heard—louder than ever—this election year.
Sincerely,
Marianne RM Yoshioka, LCSW, MBA, PhD., Dean
