The Smith College School for Social Work Office of Alumni Engagement has partnered with area coordinators and alumni across the United States to host a series of regional gatherings: Creating Connections and Community.
“We're excited to announce an initiative to strengthen our alumni community connections,” said Director of Alumni Engagement Katie Potocnik Medina. “With events in Los Angeles, Northampton, and Cleveland leading the way, these gatherings will reconnect former students, welcome those seeking practicum placements, and foster support, mentorship, and belonging.”
The series will kick off in Cleveland, Ohio on September 26 with gatherings scheduled in Massachusetts and southern California on September 28, Maryland on September 29 and North Carolina on October 2. Additional events in Massachusetts, Vermont, New York, and Portland, Oregon are in the works.
“We would love to add additional cities to the series,” said Potocnik Medina. “If you don’t see your city listed and want to host a gathering, please reach out!”
Registration for the Creating Connections and Community series will be open through September 18, 2024.
