Associate Dean Pruett Co-hosts Webinar on Coparenting During COVID-19
Marsha Kline Pruett, M.S., M.S.L., Ph.D, associate dean for academic affairs at Smith College SSW and Michael Saini, Ph.D., of Toronto University presented a free virtual webinar titled "Working Together as Parents During the Coronavirus" to address the impact of COVID-19 on parents.
Says Pruett, "Whether living together or separate, the changes in work and family life brought about by COVID-19 mean that children are home and out of routines, and parents need to work together more now than ever before to figure out how to provide for their children emotionally, academically, and economically."
The Coronavirus pandemic is raising parental concerns, fears and challenges about how to parent during this time of partial or complete isolation. Families are home together for long periods of time, without access to the usual external sources of entertainment and activity. This webinar is intended for parents and focuses on coparenting: How parents can work together—whether they are living in the same household or apart—to keep their children safe and promote their healthy development in a time of great uncertainty.
