Support for Your Physical Wellness: 

  • Pilates: beginning June 11, Thursdays, 1:15 – 2:15 with Rosi PeriRN, American Counsel on Exercise Personal Trainer. Watch the Monday “Zoom Links For You” email and use your Smith email account to join.
  • Mindful Walks: Listen to a guided meditation hosted by the Director of Wellness Services, Kris Mereigh on your own time to explore nature or your neighborhood with new eyes as a method to recharge and re-center during your week. Recorded walking guides will be posted weekly on the Buzz.
  • Virtual Yoga for Body and Mind: Every Tuesday and Friday (excl. break week), 1-1:30 p.m. ET with our very own Christine Rowghani. Check the "Zoom Links for You" email for the link. 
  • Wellness Program: SSW Fitness: Zack Kundel, head swim at Smith College, will post fitness ideas and wellness tips on a weekly basis. You can follow along while gaining skills and knowledge to build your own fitness program for the future. He will introduce concepts and tools you can use at home, without equipment, that are fun and engaging. His goal is for you to view this as “something you get to do, versus something you have to do.” New posts will be sent and on the Buzz each Tuesday.

Virtual Support for Your Mind & Spirit:

  • At-Home Acupressure & Meridian Massage: As an alternative to the Group Acupuncture Clinic this summer, Katie Oleksak, Lic. Ac., will provide one-on-one guidance to students online. She will provide instruction on at-home, do it-yourself acupressure and meridian massage, herbs, supplements & nutritional guidance and suggestions for overall health and stress reduction. As a practitioner, her process would be to gain an overall understanding of the specific needs of each student. If needed, students may follow up to provide updates, progress or questions for continuity of care throughout the summer.   • Mental Health Consultation: Schacht Center
  • Midweek Meditations: Beginning June 10, Wednesdays 1 p.m. EST), Kris Mereigh, director of the Wellness Center, will provide a weekly mindful break each week! A quick no frills guided meditation to provide stillness and connection in the midst of uncertainty and balancing academic pressures. 3 Week Zoom meditation series. 
  • Wholeness Challenges: Kris Mereigh, director of Wellness Services, will post a weekly mini wholeness challenge on the Buzz beginning Monday, July 13. Students will be invited to engage in opportunities to explore the six dimensions of wholeness (spiritual, financial, physical, social, cultural/ancestral, and intellectual) in ways that feel right and whole for themselves beginning the first day of term 2 (and posted on Sundays after that). A Wholeness Connection Chat will be held on Tuesday July 21, 5 p.m. check the "Zoom Links for You" email to join.
