Dining

Students enjoy lunch on the patio of the King Scales dining room

All students who live on campus, except those in family housing, are on the full board plan, which entitles them to breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week. SSW has established an optional meal plan for students living off-campus and for students living in family housing with children. If interested in this option, please see the below section titled "Optional Meal Plans."

The designated on-campus dining location is the Comstock Dining Room. [map]

Dietary Accommodations

Dining Services is committed to working with students who have documented food allergies and/or medically restricted diets. If you know you have a food allergy and/or require a medically restricted diet, please take these mandatory steps:

Dining Services staff is able to safely and reasonably guide students with food allergies to make their own food choices. Some food allergies and intolerances can be managed independently within your dining location. We cannot accommodate for dietary preferences; however, we can provide students with information about our menus, recipes and ingredients with our Net Nutrition System and dining options.

Optional Meal Plans

We have established an optional meal plan for students living off-campus and for students with children living in family housing.

You may choose to purchase 25 meals for $200 or a half-plan of 12 meals for $96. These meals may be any combination of breakfast, lunch or dinner. The appropriate number of meals will be added to your I.D. card, which you must swipe in order to gain access to the dining room.

To purchase a meal plan, download and submit the Summer Meal Plan form. Return the completed form to the Housing Coordinator, either by mail, email or fax (413-585-7994).

Please note:
  • This meal plan is for use in the SSW Dining Room only. It CANNOT be used at the Campus Center Cafe.
  • Students who wish to purchase a meal plan for spouses, partners or children, please contact the Housing Coordinator directly. Do not use this form for that purpose.
  • No refunds will be given for unused meals. Meals cannot roll over into the following summer.

Dining Room Honor Code

The Dining Room Honor Code form is for students living off campus or in family housing who wish to bring their own lunch and eat in the SSW dining room with their friends who are living on campus. By signing this form, you agree to not remove or consume any Dining Service foods or beverages while dining with your friends.

When you enter the dining hall, you must show your OneCard to the staff, who will check your name against the list of students who have signed this form.

Campus Center Café

The Campus Center Café offers a wide variety of food and beverages (with vegan and vegetarian selections), including gourmet pizzas prepared in a stone hearth oven, salads made to order, homemade soups, panini and deli sandwiches, and grilled foods. SSW students, staff, and faculty may purchase meals from the Campus Center Café. However, meals at the Café are not covered by the meal plan.

If you are a faculty member, you may use your OneCard to pay for purchases from the Campus Center Café. The price will be submitted to the Bursar's office and deducted from your paychecks. You will receive periodic statements of the balance in your campus mailboxes.
