Per the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, transcripts may not be released without the student's consent and signature. Because federal law requires that we obtain your signature, phone and email transcript requests (without signature) are not accepted.
Official copies of transcripts may be withheld based on outstanding financial or other obligations to the college.
If you need to request your Smith College undergraduate or non SSW graduate transcript, please see Smith College Registrar's Office Transcript Ordering instructions.
To request a transcript from the School for Social Work, download and print the SSW transcript request form. Fill out the form completely, sign it, and submit it to the SSW Registrar's Office by email, fax, or mail:

Ordering Instructions
Smith College has partnered with the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) to provide secure, FERPA-compliant online ordering and delivery of electronic (pdf) and hard copy (paper) transcripts. Electronic and hard copy transcripts may be ordered online through the National Student Clearinghouse 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This transcript service is available only to current students and to students who attended or who entered Smith in September 1991 or later AND who graduated in 1995 or later.
Hard Copy Transcript Option
Hard copy transcripts are free when mailed via first-class mail. Express delivery options are available for a fee based on service requested. Processing time is 24-48 hours and mail time is based on recipient location and service requested.
Electronic Transcript Option (Fee Required)
With a valid credit card, you can order multiple transcripts to be sent to various recipients. There is a processing fee of $2.50-3.50 per transcript. A transcript sent to an institution or graduate application service within the NSC network costs $2.50; $3.50 is charged for a secure (blue ribbon certified) transcript sent to an individual, organization, or school outside the NSC network. (Smith College does not charge an additional transcript fee or receive any portion of the processing fees charged by the Clearinghouse.) Your card will only be charged after your order has been completed. Order updates are available via text message and email, and you can also track your order online. Processing Time is 24-48 hours.
